Health Promoting Schools, a partnership between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Education and Training (MET)

Health Promoting Schools, a partnership between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Education and Training (MET), funded by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is donating handwashing equipment to 20 schools under the programme.

Representatives from MoH and MET accompanied the WHO Country Liaison Officer Dr. Yutaro Setoya to GPS Tokomololo where handwashing facilities had been installed under the programme.

The Principal thanked the project on behalf of the staff and students for the assistance which will help them prepare in the event of COVID-19 entering Tonga.

The Health Promoting Schools programme also donated sports equipment to promote physical activity and assists with vegetable growing activities to encourage healthy eating lifestyles.

The Ministry of Health thanks WHO for their continued assistance.
